Product Info

The Gas Safety System® provides a higher level of protection against the dangers of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Our system uses a state-of-the-art Nemoto® industrial grade sensor, which adheres to the EN 50291 standard.  Where a level of 30 PPM will be detected and cause an alarm activation and shut down the offending appliance in two hours.

Our sensor far exceeds the UL Standard 2034 which allows up to 70 PPM (parts per million) for a month before it will alert you. For healthy adults CO becomes toxic when it reaches a level higher than 35 ppm with continuous exposure over an eight hour period. When the level of CO becomes higher than that a person will suffer from symptoms of exposure.

Gas Safety System, our award winning, patterned, Peerless® shut-off ball valve.

Understanding the Danger of CO

For healthy adults CO becomes toxic when it reaches a level higher than 35 ppm (parts per million) with continuous exposure over an eight hour period. When the level of CO becomes higher than that a person will suffer from symptoms of exposure.

OSHA guidelines state that the maximum exposure over an eight hour time period is 35 ppm

Mild Exposure: 2-3 hours @ 35ppm — 200ppm will produce flu-like symptoms such as headaches, sore eyes and a runny nose.

Medium Exposure: 1 hour @ 200ppm — 800ppm will produce dizziness, drowsiness and vomiting. This level of exposure is deemed to be life threatening once three hours has passed.

Extreme Exposure:  In a few minutes @ 800ppm and higher will result in unconsciousness, brain damage and death.

NOTE: As point of reference, the CO produced by a car, in a closed garage, is approximately 300 PPM.
